Microsoft has announced General availability of Azure OpenAI Services, part of Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to democratizing AI and ongoing partnership with OpenAI.Microsoft launched the Azure OpenAI service in November 2021, allowing access to OpenAI’s powerful language model through the REST API; but at that timeThis service is only available to limited customers.

The company’s CEO Satya Nadella (Satya Nadella) releasedtweetssay:“As we help customers apply the world’s most advanced AI models to their own business needs, ChatGPT will soon be available in the Azure OpenAI service, which is now generally available.“

According to the introduction,With the general availability of the Azure OpenAI service, more enterprises can apply for access to AI models including GPT-3.5, Codex, and DALL・E 2. Users will also soon be able to access ChatGPT — a fine-tuned version of GPT-3.5 that has been trained and runs inference on Azure AI infrastructure — via the Azure OpenAI service.

Microsoft points out that Power BI is already using GPT-3 to generate formulas and expressions; it is also using DALL·E 2 to power images generated by its Microsoft Designer AI. Microsoft already runs these services and GitHub’s Copilot on the Azure OpenAI service. Currently, Microsoft has created GPT-3, DALL•E 2, and Codex layers with different functions, called Davinci, Curie, Babbage, and Ada, respectively. Of these, Davinci is the most capable, but the others are faster.

Nadella has stated, every product of Microsoft will include some artificial intelligence function. And said: “The best way to prepare is not to bet on this technology, this technology can help you do your job and your business process.”

Microsoft invested $1 billion in OpenAI in 2019, and in return, OpenAI built its AI models on Microsoft’s Azure AI supercomputing technology in its pursuit of general artificial intelligence.In 2020, Microsoft also bought an exclusive license to the company’s GPT-3 language model.Some time ago, it was reported that Microsoft was negotiating to acquire a $10 billion stake in OpenAI at a valuation of $29 billion.
