The Steam survey data for September 2022 has been released. According to foreign media Phoronix, the usage rate of Linux in September fell slightly.

Data for August showed Steam usage on Linux was 1.27%, followed by 1.23% in July and 1.18% in June. The Steam survey data released in early October showed that Steam’s Linux players fell back to 1.23%, down 0.04% month-on-month.

At the operating system level,Windows’ Steam market share increased by 0.18% to 96.41%, macOS fell by 0.14%, accounting for 2.36%, and Linux has fallen back to 1.23%.

When comparing data across distributions, SteamOS “Holo” usage increased by 3.35% this month, accounting for 17.04% of all Steam usage on Linux. The system’s soaring figures stem from the massive shipments of the Steam Deck console.

At the CPU level, the AMD CPU market share of Linux gamers increased by 1.26% month-on-month and is currently 52.27%, while Intel’s 47.73%,

AMD’s data growth also benefited from the massive shipment of Steam Deck handhelds. Steam Deck is equipped with AMD Van Gogh (Van Gogh) family APU processors customized by Valve to AMD, including Zen 2 architecture CPU and RDNA 2 architecture GPU.
