Stellarium is a free and open source planetarium application that renders realistic skies in real-time with OpenGL, available for Linux/Unix, Windows and macOS.

Now, after more than 20 years of development, Stellarium has finally released version 1.0. Stellarium 1.0 is also the first version based on the Qt6 framework, with the following updates:

  • Added “Go” button to search window location label
  • Added wwddmmyyyy date format for observability analysis plugin
  • Added hover effect to buttons of Oculars plugin
  • Added support for dialog close button 500% scale
