Recently, Pingtouge Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Pingtouge”) signed the openKylin community CLA (Contributor License Agreement) and officially joined the openKylin open source community.

Founded on September 19, 2018, Pingtouge is the wholly-owned semiconductor chip business entity of Alibaba Group. As a pioneer of high-performance RISC-V processors, Pingtouge continues to expand the boundaries of RISC-V performance, applications and ecology, creating a rich family of RISC-V processors ranging from low power consumption, low cost to high performance and high energy efficiency , Widely used in more than 30 fields and application scenarios such as edge computing, wireless communication, industrial control, and general-purpose MCU.

After joining the openKylin community, Brother Pingtou actively participated in community cooperation to promote the integration and development of openKylin and RISC-V architecture. Currently,Pingtouge has cooperated with the openKylin community to complete the adaptation of Pingtouge Hiying 1520 SoC and the openKylin operating system, and built a mirror version based on the community software source.

This version contains nearly 1,600 software packages, integrates a series of stable versions of basic libraries and graphics development libraries, and can run the UKUI desktop environment smoothly. In addition, the system contains a wealth of openKylin self-developed software and third-party open source software, such as browsers, video, audio and document editing, etc., which can meet the basic needs of users.
