Papirus is a free and open source Linux SVG icon theme, based on Paper Icon Set with many new icons and some extra features, such as support for Hardcode-Tray, support for KDE colorscheme, support for folder colors, etc.
There are five variations of the Papirus icon theme:
- Papirus
- Papirus Dark
- Papirus Light
- ePapirus (elementary OS and Pantheon Desktop only)
- ePapirus Dark (elementary OS and Pantheon Desktop only)
Install
Ubuntu and its derivatives
Install Papirus
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:papirus/papirus
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install papirus-icon-theme
Debian and its derivatives
Debian commands will be different:
sudo sh -c "echo 'deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/papirus/papirus/ubuntu focal main' > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/papirus-ppa.list"
sudo apt-get install dirmngr
sudo gpg --no-default-keyring --keyring gnupg-ring:/etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/papirus.gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv E58A9D36647CAE7F
sudo chmod 644 /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/papirus.gpg
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install papirus-icon-theme
Papirus Installer
Install the latest version directly from this repo using a script (independent of your distribution):
Notice: Use the same script to update the icon theme.
